The one time I did (2003?), Speedy J opened it at St. Andrew's Hall. Good set, but only about 60-90m long and then they turned up the lights and booted us all out... Here's his 4-hour set from this year's DEMF..

Dave Shades on Bleep Radio

Dave Shades from Glasgow (some bkgd) has the latest two sets on Bleep radio. Me likey mucho.

Dave mainly plays wonky and jacking techno, with splatterings of booty, electro and acid, however he has been known to dabble in pretty much anything including disco, hip-hop and even breakcore.

Kitsune Maison

I picked up a Kitsune Maison disc some years back on my last visit to the old world, but recently found most releases available for download at ilove-techno. Hard to put a style label on it, some electro-clash-y stuff (anyone use that term still?), some house-y stuff, and many other styles + influences.

"Eclectronic" was the term I tried spawning some years back, but no dice. Anyhow, great listening.

In a similar vein, been listening to Death before Distemper 4 -- some tracks on it I don't like, but a nice eclectronic assortment. Darker and more chill than the Kitsune stuff.

What I'm listening to

Nothing highly recommend lately, but here are a few mixes I've been playing.

• Function on the CLR Podcast (mp3)
  Some good techno and commentary on NY->Berlin
• Bleep Radio 208: Good electro set by Trevor Wilkes
  Good to hear some more good electro via bleep radio.
  The track starting at 11:10 is electro bliss.
• Derek May in Tel Aviv 
  Detroit Institute labeled it highly recommended. Meh, it's ok
• Steve Bug - Electronic Groove podcast
  not his best (try his essential mix from last year), but fills a minimal void
• James Zabiela: BBC Essential MixCross-genre mix, some ambient to cheesy techno-pop to techno, an ok listen if you don't mind the cheesy parts.
